A LITTLE ABOUT ME
WHY ARTISAN DESIGN?
I founded an artisan business in 2004 and ran it until 2018, when I sold it to another owner. I learned a lot from doing most of my own branding, packaging, and website work during those 14 years. After selling my business, my love for brand design led me to study the subject in more detail, including a deeper dive into the latest versions of technical tools used to build brand assets (such as the Adobe suite of products, Kadence Blocks for WordPress, and Webflow). I know from experience that many artisans could use help with design and branding, freeing up more of their time for the many other tasks they need to do. I would love to help other artisans create their dream branding and build a strong brand identity. I would also love to work with local business owners here in Sonoma County that want to build creative websites that connect with their customers, explain their services, and convey their brand ethos.
BLOG
After selling my business in 2018, I rolled my previous business blog into a new blog called The Artisan Insider. I wrote some new posts there until I adopted a puppy a few years ago, and I have been taking a break from blogging while raising him and taking online design classes. I am now devoting time to work projects again.
EARLIER BACKGROUND
My earlier background includes attending Stanford University, where I earned a B.S. in Environmental Earth Science (with distinction and induction into the honors society Phi Beta Kappa) and M.S. in Geomechanics. Later, I worked for Sun Microsystems as a technical writer for one of their software development teams. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and have lived in Healdsburg, California since 2005.
